Race Rigs
Scott Addict CX, i will be riding the cross version of the road Addict supplied by Hargroves Cycles, over the 2009/10 season.

This is my first season riding Scott bikes and since picking them up from Hargroves headquarters in September they have not dissapointed. The bike is super stiff, and is practically a toughened cross version of the road bike, and is only some 190kg heavier. The full carbon frame features an integrated seat post, slacker head angle, a big funky rear wishbone, Canti brake bosses, a longer wheelbase, but a shorter top tube and a Ritchey carbon fork. Plus there is plenty of space for good mud clearance. The bikes are really responsive like the road version and handle really well off road. Often a problem for cross bikes tweaked from a good road bike is that they are uncomfortable. However the Scott passes this test with flying colours(Black and yellow in this case), i have often suffered from a bad back in cross but not this year as the carbon is weaved in such a way that its one of the most comfortable rides out there.

My attitude to bikes is that i want them to work no matter what conditions i throw at them and so i have opted for tried and tested alloy FSA bars and stems, plus a 2008 Shimano Dura Ace transmission. The fact they are the best looking cross bikes out there is an added bonus which i love.

The bike weighs in at 7.1kg with my lightest wheels in, to put this into perspective Klaas Vantorhout's (Sunweb pro) Ridleys with the latest Dura ace and spangly carbon wheels weighs in at 8.5kg, he could not believe how light my bike was, Thanks Scott!!
